I think this is a pretty good fight especially since Gai knows how to fight the Sharingan
Gai hands down. But it would be interesting.

Gai's only chance here would be to pull off a Hachimon/Asakujaku blitz before Sasuke could activate CS2.
That has pretty much no chance of happening, especially if they are in character. Gai gets stomped.

Yeah, fighting without looking at the top of your opponent's body is not difficult at all. You cannot even see what attack he is preparing...
Gate-powered speed is the one thing that makes Guy stand out, but even that would not be enough against Sasuke who could handle Kyuubi Naruto pretimeskip when he was much slower than he has become.
If by any miracle Guy got too close, a mere chidori nagashi would easily knock him out.
I won't even bring up snakes, CS2 or any other ability Sasuke has as these would not be necessary.
It would be an ugly fight, snakes and all it would just end up being too messy. Gai's good at what he does but he's too constrained in terms of area of skill. Could you really see Gai being able to fight on a equal footing with Deidarra. Guy likes simple straight forward fights and Sasuke is a tactical fighter. If Sasuke could only use his katana and chidori no snakes or CS2 vs Gai with no Gates unlocked and equiped with nunchaku it would be good.
From what we've seen so far, I'd say that Sasuke would beat Gai. But we haven't seen as much of what Gai is capable of compared to what we've seen from Sasuke. Remember that Gai can also use ninjutsu (such as kuchiyose).

How can you say that we havent seen what Gai is capable of, in the kisame fight he was forced to his limits and had to unlock his gates. the only move that was slightly suprising was morning peacock. Are we forgetting 'that jutsu' when you say that you know what sasuke is capable of, it's probably a trump card of some sort. And kuchiyose, all he could summon was a fat little turtle, imagine that fighting one of Sasukes fodder summons.

Sasuke is no match for Gai's Dynamic Entry. Sasuke falls hard.
Good Guy pose always wins...Gai has this in the bag.
I actually think we haven't seen much of Gai yet, and I don't think the Kisame fight is any judge to what else Gai is capable of. As such, I still think he has Sasuke beat in a fight, as his fighting style seems to be the most capable of taking Sasuke down.
Sasuke rapes.
Sasuke's current achievements are completely beyond Gai's level.
Sasuke wins with ease. We have seen basically all of what Gai is capable of, and it's not that impressive.

Power = Gai
Speed = We can't be sure who is faster so i call it a tie (I don't care what you think as a fan, i think gai is very fast and sasuke is also very fast so speed is negated)
Ninjutsu = sasuke
genjutsu = sasuke
taijutsu = Gai
Experience = Gai
Power Up = Once again i think Gates are higher than CS2 but there is no certainty so its a tie
Experience Vs opponent type = Gai has experience fighting the sharingan, while sasuke does not know too much about gai, but as gai is mainly taijutsu you shouldn't need to know much.... slight advantage to Gai.
Breaking it down like that it is a good fight but Gai has a little advantage and takes this fight.... and no.... for the sasuke fans it is not a guarantee that Gai gets caught in Genjutsu.
Sasuke wins this.
