Where is Naruto and the Kyuubi headed now? like, ultimate, ability, relying, special

With the revelation of the key in 370, I really don't know anymore. It's like they're back on the quot;Naruto is shit without Kyuubiquot; road. What the hell happened to the quot;relying on your own powerquot; route that I liked so much? Fuckin' Yamato.

Don't get me wrong though. I recognize the Kyuubi as a tool as well as a curse, like any other bloodline or special ability. Sharingan. But that doesn't mean that I would want said biju to be the sole reason for Naruto's ultimate ascension to greatness.

Sorry if there's already something like this around here, I didn't see anything other than a few off hand posts about it.

Any thoughts (from a functional brain) or opinions would be appreciated.

I really don't know, it would be interesting what Kishi does with it.

My opinon is that kishi could be confused where naruto and the kyuubi is concerned.Kyuubi is an important player in this,but he is only shown if naruto uses it.

This is what i think,Naruto will not use the kyuubi the way he did at the begining of part 2.
Remember what the frog said,The kyuubi's chakra bitchslapped naruto's which caused the kyuubi to take over, it was pure kyuubi's chakra from that point, none of naruto's.

Naruto will have to use his own power to keep the kyuubi in check so he can learn quot;thatquot; jutsu.

I think that's what kishi is aiming for,and what yamato meant.

I have never really been against Naruto using Kyuubi's power simply because he is a Jinchuuriki and that's what they do, use the power that they have been quot;givenquot;.

In all honesty, I can't tell where it will go. Naruto isn't stupid, he knows that the power he obtains is dangerous and he understands the consequences of not being able to control said power. If theres anything that will drive him to strive harder to control full control over that much power it will be his will to protect everyone.

So, It could come down to Naruto striving to be the best he can and reaching that new power in order to protect all of his special people, to protect his village and to protect the Narutoverse as they now know it.

Personally, I want Naruto to lose to Pein. Thus allow Akatsuki to obtain the Kyuubi and achieve their goal, leaving Naruto without the power hes apparently useless without and it will open up a little more story.

You and me both, but at the very least I hope the Naruto who merges his chakra and the Kyuubi's to become one is like the form with Kakuzu.

Ah sorry the title was a bit misleading. I didn't mean it literally, I meant more of what Canute and Rasengan are saying. Great posts btw, I really like those ideas.

I completely see where you're coming from, especially since Kishi draws a great deal of inspiration from the Dragonball manga. God knows I don't want Naruto's power to be solely based on how much of the Kyuubi he can manipulate like Toriyama judged how powerful the Saiyans were based on how much of their Saiyan powers they could manipulate, but so far Kishi's strayed away from that path, and I have full faith in Kishi that he will continue straying away from that path.

Already we've been shown that the Kyuubi cannot be relied on, as users with even the basic mastery of the Sharingan (Sasuke) have been able to surpress the Kyuubi chakra; or hell, with a regular sealing jutsu like Oro pwned on Naruto during the Forest of Death arc. Ergo, Naruto can't use the Kyuubi consistently in every fight without expecting to be shut down, and I think Naruto knows this. The only time he actively uses the Kyuubi (When we see only the red slits and a bit of whiskers on his face) is when he needs the extra chakra boost to pull off jutsus that would be normally way over his head. All the other times we've seen apeshit Kyuubi modes have been in extreme emotional circumstances where the Kyuubi has taken advantage of Naruto's emotional distress and turned him into a rage machine. Hell, he can't even rely on the tailed mode because of how much damage it does to his body. So if you really think about it, the Kyuubi in the long run has been shown as a disadvantage from every angle except when it provides Naruto that extra chakra burst he needs, and over time, he'll have plenty of chakra to work with without having to rely on the Kyuubi to complete his jutsus.

I think overall, the theme of with your own power is being used, it's just the only way Naruto can keep up with the amount of pwnage Akatsuki is putting out these days is by relying on the Kyuubi a lot. Without the Kyuubi, he still has his tactical genius, he still has all his jutsus, and he still has that will of steel to overcome anything in his way. All he loses is a crapload of chakra, and any shinobi can gain chakra over time. The whole business of the key seems merely to be a later plot device to, IMO, stop Madara from getting the Kyuubi, not to give Naruto more control over the Kyuubi and allow him to pwn more.

I  honestly have no idea. I think it shows why Kishimoto needed a break in order to collect quot;materialsquot;. He hasn't been able to outline and breakdown these chapters as he has wanted to. I and many others thought that he was many chapters ahead of each week but apparently, he's not.

naruto's yin chakra can be used to keep the kyuubi's yang chakra in check and balance it out so that naruto can control a 9 tailed mode...i bet this is what will happen, some how naruto will be able to control all tailed mode eventually, with no harm coming to him

^Yeah, and it's going to be called Super Kyuubi 9, and its signature look is going to be Naruto growing long, wild blonde hair that reaches down to his booty.

I really don't have a problem with Naruto using the Kyubi's chakra. If your given power, use it, and I really don't like the quot;Shun the Kyubi!quot; path that Kishi seems to be taking. Naruto still has a ridiculously large amount of chakra on his own, and he learns all of his jutsu on his own, so I have no problem with him using the kyubi's chakra to actually USE the jutsu he learns, or to give him power when hes clearly outmatched.

i think that naruto's usage of kyuubi is like a gift from his dad. so its not as bad as it sounds. anyway i am thinking he will use the key to unlock kyuubi power and develop quot;that jutsuquot; before pein extracts it out of him forever. but then he'll have to rely 100#37; on himself and own pein hardcore

It's kinda hard to rely on his own power when the seal is weakening.

This Question seems like its more suited to theories, because everything you could state here is just speculation. My thoughts though is that Naruto right now is more like Inuyasha in search or training not to lose control to beast inside him. With the emphasis on him training to create and surpass the 4th jutsu's as the path to the strength he'll need to have complete command over the kyuubi's Chakra. As Naruto learns to remain in control of himself, hopefully he can be more calculating and less panicked in his battles.
