Silent Hill and Resident Evil wins, there's alot of other scary shit out there though.
Also,that video-countdown is like ancient old.

My list:

1. Silent Hill (original) freaked the crap out of me.
2-10. Nothing really.  Maybe some stuff with quot;startlingquot; parts, but nothing quot;scaryquot;.

I'd change Project Zero 2 for Resident Evil, but keep Silent Hill on the top.

Course, I agree with RE being on there. It'd be my number 1

Resident Evil 2 was bad at nighttime for me back in the day. I like their list but I will say Gears of War had some moments but not nothing as epic as these.

The best part of RE2 was when Mr. X ran through several walls. Holy shit that was good.

Silent Hill defintely scared the shit outta me so I vote that.

The old RE games scared me quite a bit at night when I was a kid lol.

F.E.A.R. was kinda scary... hmm... I dunno xD

I would have thought it could have slipped into the top 10 maybe, but then FEAR looks more of an action-based first-person shooter and the horror theme never seemed consistent. Suprising indeed though considering that Alma character is chillingly freaky.

I avoid scary games, so I've only played Resident Evil. And yeah, that's scary.

Only scary game i've played is F.E.A.R. And that was scary enough for me thanks. But my friend is gonna loan me silent hill

Doom 3 was not scary... It was more of a cheap haunted house than anything else. Silent Hill and Resident Evil (not 4, though it's still freaky at times, the dogs in the hedges ) are pretty up there. Anything with porcelain dolls makes me shit out of my eyes though. But heck Fear was scarier than Doom 3, with that crazy kid and the invisible dudes. But I can't really give anything the #1 here.

Those games made me squeal, jump from my seat, jitter my mouse around for a second then say quot;fuck thisquot; and not return for a few days. So those deserve the #1 for me
