Unable to Comprehend (Itachi/sasuke fanfic) his, actually, brothers, family

THIS IS NOT YAOI!!!!!  if you like SasuIta, and you saw the title thinking thats what this is, your wrong. I cannot express this enough people, not only are they brothers, but they also hate eachother.  this story has some brotherly love in it, but other than that, you yaoi fans are out of luck.

Sasuke had made his decision finale, but he still didn#8217;t know if he could actually do it.  He took an ancient family photo out of his bag and sighed.  Years ago he had ripped out his brothers face.  Now that he thought about it, Itachi probably had expected him to do that.  In fact, he probably had wanted him to.  Sasuke closed his eyes and once more let out a deep breath.  Even if he could face Itachi, how could he be sure he wouldn#8217;t just run at him automatically, as he had done before.  Sasuke didn#8217;t Know where Itachi was hiding at the time, but he would come, Sasuke knew that. Naruto was still in Konoha, and, as  far as Sasuke knew, a target of the Akatsuki. Whether for Naruto, or  for  some other reason, Itachi would come. Although how long Sasuke could sit and wait quietly without tracking his brother down, nobody could be sure.  Hopefully it wouldn#8217;t be to long.
To his surprise it wasn#8217;t.  Itachi came with the excuse of wanting to capture the Kyuubi,  but even Kisame knew he wanted to face Sasuke again.  When he heard of his little brother#8217;s return to Konoha (no news escapes the ears of Zetsu), he had wanted to leave immediately.

#8220;So, you know where the kid lives?#8221; Kisame asked.  Itachi could tell by his tone that his sharkish partner did not mean Naruto.

#8220;I can#8217;t forget.#8221;  Kisame sighed.  Itachi had not answered the question.   = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =                                 

Itachi felt his heart rip in two.  He clenched his teeth. It was as if  his soul had been placed in a boiling caldron in the very pits of hell itself.  He began to tremble, though it was not because of the cold.  He was no longer in control of the situation, he could no longer sit and watch as his own brother#8217;s life became worse and worse until it was little more than a living hell.  The whole thing was supposed to be a story that Itachi himself wrote, and therefore knew what was going to happen next, how it would end.  The good guy would win, would kill the bad guy, and they would live happily ever after.  But this time, the Characters in his story turned against him, refused to do what he told them, making it so the good guy did not win, in fact, refused to kill the bad guy, and thus the bad guy got away with his crimes, continued reeking havoc throughout the world.  So it went without reason that there was no happy ending.  Why would anyone want to read - want to write - a story like that?

#8220;Excuse me?#8221; Itachi said loathingly, suddenly filled with immeasurable hatred.

#8220;I forgive you. You can live your life now, and I#8217;ll live mine.  I don#8217;t have to kill you.#8221; But Sasuke#8217;s voice cracked. This was obviously very hard for him, too.

#8220;You mean you#8217;re giving up?#8221; Itachi#8217;s voice was, at the same time, nearly inaudible and what could be defined as shouting. His trembling became noticeable, and his eyes grew large with fear and anger.  He felt like crying, he would have to live with himself for the rest of his life, but he would not show weakness in front of Sasuke.

#8220;No, forgiveness is- oh, dangit! Why do I even try? You probably wouldn#8217;t understand anyway!#8221; Sasuke let out an exasperated sigh an closed his eyes, something he would never do in front of any enemy, even Itachi, and he had the Mangekyou.  But he knew Itachi wouldn#8217;t try anything.  He was to hurt himself.

#8220;Foolish little brother, you are weak. This brings a whole new meaning to the phrase #8216;you lack hatred#8217;#8217;

#8220;Yes, I suppose it does.#8221; Sasuke opened his eyes. He pitied the seemingly deranged Itachi in front of him. #8220;But I don#8217;t need hatred anymore, Itachi, it#8217;s complicated.#8221;

#8220;And what, may I ask, brought you to that conclusion?#8221;

Sasuke was silent for a long time.  He didn#8217;t really want to tell Itachi what had happened.  But Sasuke had told himself he would treat Itachi like any normal older brother, except for the fact that he was in a criminal gang, but he would ignore that for now.  #8220;#8230;.I saw your face when I looked in the mirror, Nii-san.

Itachi tensed.  That last word, referring to him, had stung like a hot iron sword through his heart.  But he tried not to show it. #8220;Ah, well, that would explain things then.#8221;

There was a long silence, Kisame was more confused then ever, but he knew his partner well enough to be able to tell he had been hurt.  He felt like he should say something, but nothing came to mind.

#8220;Itachi-san?#8221; he called finally.

Itachi himself showed no sign of hearing, but  Sasuke gave a contented sigh.  It felt good to let go of his hatred, better than he thought it would, though he could do nothing to stop the pain.

#8220;You#8217;re looking for Naruto?#8221;

#8220;Yes#8221;

#8220;You know where he lives?#8221;

#8220;Of coarse.#8221;

#8220;Right, I#8217;ll just let you do that, then.#8221;  In one swift movement Sasuke disappeared into the trees, knowing that next time he met his brother, they would be brothers.==================================================  ========

no, it is not yoai. SasukeXItachi truly digusts me. I can think of no reason for them to love eachother, in fact, I can probably make a whole list at least 10 pages long, propably longer, about why they should not. I'm not goingto right now, but I might actually. It would be sort of interesting to see how many I could come up with. gt;

-_- well, how could anyone think that would ever happen at all.  The highly disturbing, yet unavoidable truth of the matter is, people mistake hatred for love, and love for hatred.  Although in my story Sasuke forgave Itachi, that does not mean they are going to automatically......do nasty stuff. Brotherly love is different than that.
